The short answer
A VPN fixes YouTube only when something between you and YouTube is blocking it. That is common on school, college and office Wi-Fi, and in countries that block the site, such as mainland China. It does not fix a weak signal, a full data plan or an old phone. So first find out whether YouTube fails everywhere or only on one network. Switch the phone to mobile data for a minute. If the video plays there, the block sits on the Wi-Fi, and a key can help. If it stutters everywhere, a tunnel only adds distance.
Work out which problem you have
- Opens on mobile data, not on the hostel or office Wi-Fi: a filter on that network. A key usually gets through, because it looks like ordinary HTTPS.
- Opens but buffers all day: slow line or crowded cell. A VPN will not speed it up and may slow it a little.
- Fails only in the app, not in the browser: clear the app cache and update it first.
- Fails abroad: the country may block the site. See our page on VPN and China for how to prepare.
- Age or region message on a single video: that is the video's own setting, not the network.
Getting YouTube through a filtered network
- 1Take the free days from @akimbo_key_bot in Telegram. You get a vless:// key and a QR code.
- 2Get a free client: Hiddify or v2rayNG for Android, Streisand for iPhone, Hiddify for a laptop.
- 3Paste the key, pick the nearest country, which is Singapore from most of India, and connect.
- 4Open YouTube again. Close the app fully first, so it reads the new connection.
- 5Keep the tunnel on while the video plays. Switching it off in the middle brings the block back.
The rules of the place you are in
A school or a company may forbid tunnels on its network, and breaking that rule is your own risk, not ours. A key is for networks you are allowed to choose a route on, such as your own phone or a rented room. If you cannot use one, the alternative is to work with the network owner. Some people also look for a YouTube alternative or a YouTube substitute website when a filter blocks the main site. That swaps one site for another and gives you a different catalogue. It is only worth it when a tunnel is not an option.
What we do not promise
We do not publish speed figures for streaming, and we cannot promise a given video quality. Distance matters: the nearest country adds the least delay, so pick it unless you need another. Free VPNs with a small data cap tend to run out within a few videos, because video is heavy. Our ten free days have no cap, which lets you judge on your own network.

Questions
Things people ask the bot
Is YouTube blocked in India?
No. If it fails, the cause is usually your network, your phone or the video's own settings.
Which country is best for YouTube?
The nearest, which is Singapore from most of India. It adds the least delay.
Will a VPN stop buffering?
Only if your provider routes you badly. On a weak signal it makes little difference.
Can I use it on a school network?
Check the school's rules first. If tunnels are not allowed, using one is your decision and your risk.
Does the key work for YouTube on a TV?
It works on devices that can run a client. Phone, laptop and some Android TVs can. Five devices share one key.
What if YouTube works but ads are heavy?
A VPN does not remove ads. That is a setting in your account or app.
Still unsure?
Support and your key live in the same Telegram bot. The setup page shows which app to install.
