What is different about Jio
Jio carries more of India's mobile data than any other operator, and it is an IPv6 network at heart. Most Jio SIMs get only an IPv6 address, and older sites are reached through a translator inside Jio's network. That matters for a VPN for Jio in two ways. First, some old VPN apps cannot connect at all on an IPv6 only SIM. Second, a badly set up VPN can leak IPv6 traffic around the tunnel. What to expect on Jio
- Your daily data quota is used as normal. A VPN does not reset or avoid it.
- After the daily limit Jio drops to a very low speed, and the VPN will crawl as well.
- JioFiber and AirFiber are usually more stable than mobile data in the evening.
- JioTV, JioCinema and other Jio apps may refuse to work through a foreign server. Exclude them, or pause the VPN while you use them.
- Vpn for Jio net on a JioPhone does not work. It needs an Android phone or an iPhone.
