ExpressVPN India: what to know before you install

ExpressVPN works from India, with servers in other countries. In June 2022 it announced that it was removing its Indian servers because it would not comply with the CERT-In order to keep user records. Press coverage said it would offer Indian locations as virtual ones, served from Singapore and the UK. If you were looking for expressvpn India because you want a genuine Indian address, you will not get one, from this company or any service whose servers are abroad.

Many pages still repeat an expressvpn activation code from 2020 or earlier. Activation codes belong to an account and are tied to a plan, so a code from a random page is either expired or someone else's. Do not enter your login on a site that offers one. The same goes for any expressvpn mod: a changed app is not updated by the company, and nobody can say what it sends out. If you want to try the service for free, read the current trial and refund terms on ExpressVPN's own website. We will not quote them, because they change.

Akimbo is a different kind of product. You do not install a brand app. Our Telegram bot hands you a VLESS key; you drop it into a free client, for example Hiddify on a PC or v2rayNG on Android. Five devices share one key, there are six countries, and nothing renews unless you pay again by UPI or crypto. We have fewer locations than ExpressVPN and no apps of our own, and for some readers that is a worse deal. If a branded app is what you want, it may be the better choice.

We sell a competing service, so read this as one view and compare facts you can verify: where the servers are, what the trial needs, how the plan renews and how the connection holds up on your own line after work. This comparison was written by Akimbo with an AI model assisting; it relies on the dated source below and on our own setup. We did not test ExpressVPN ourselves.
